Rural animal safety
Queensland is home to many wild—and potentially dangerous—animals. Stay safe by
- always being aware of where you are placing your feet
- checking before putting your hands or feet under logs, rocks, hollows, crevices or debris
- wearing boots and trousers to protect from animal bites
- no handling injured animals
- carrying a torch when walking at night
- knowing appropriate first aid for treating snake bites.
